Hope Vision Project (Free Cataract Operations)
Since 2009, the Trust, in collaboration with the People’s Hospital of Shaoguan City, Qujiang District, started the “Hope Vision Project”. The Project provided free cataract operations to the elderly, including the donation of medical equipment, all costs of the operations and recuperation.
• Over the past 16 years, more than 4,250 cases have been handled. Most of the patients were elderly.
• Under the fourth five-year plan from 2024 to 2025 in Qujiang District, we target to complete not less than 300 cases per year, with 10 more cases per year.
• During 2015 to 2020, the Project was extended to Dayu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. 850 lenses were donated and nearly 600 cases were done.
• In 2023, the project officially begin in Jiaoling County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, and we had signed five-year plan from 2024 to 2025, we target to complete not less than 230 cases per year, with 10 more cases per year.
• Over RMB 6.52 million had been spent on the Project in the past 16 years till 2025.
