The 2025/26 Student Leap Forward Award Scheme Presentation Ceremony in Sai Kung District, jointly organised by the Sai Kung District School Heads Association, the Sai Kung & Tseung Kwan O Secondary School Heads Association and the Sai Kung District Aided Primary School Heads Association, and sponsored by Yuk Ching Charity Trust, was successfully held on 23 May 2026 at the school hall of P.L.K. Wong Wing Shu Primary School.
The Scheme aims to recognise students who have demonstrated remarkable progress in academic performance, conduct, personal growth and other areas. It also seeks to encourage students to build confidence, remain positive, and continue striving for improvement as they face challenges in learning and personal development.
Since its establishment in 2004, Yuk Ching Charity Trust has been committed to promoting charitable initiatives in education, medical services, environmental protection, disaster relief and poverty alleviation. The Trust believes that every student deserves recognition and encouragement. In particular, students who may not always stand out under conventional assessment systems should also be valued for their perseverance, effort and potential.
Since the 2015/16 school year, the Student Leap Forward Award Scheme has been extended to 11 districts across Hong Kong. To date, it has benefited more than 770 schools and recognised over 4,300 students. This year, a total of 271 awardees from 45 schools in Sai Kung District were commended, fully reflecting the students’ positive attitude and determination to make continuous progress.
The awardees’ achievements covered a wide range of areas, including academic improvement, better conduct, active participation in school life, and perseverance in the face of difficulties. Their stories demonstrate that “leaping forward” is not merely about surpassing others, but about continuously surpassing oneself. Every step of progress and every act of perseverance serve as an important foundation for their future growth.
In response to rapid social and technological development, the Scheme introduced the Innovation and Technology Award this year. The new award aims to encourage students to understand the value of innovation and technology, nurture their spirit of exploration and problem-solving abilities, and inspire them to apply technology to improve lives and serve the community in the future.
Yuk Ching Charity Trust extends its heartfelt congratulations to all awardees, and expresses sincere appreciation to school heads, teachers and parents for their dedicated guidance and support. The Trust will continue to uphold its mission of caring for the community and nurturing the next generation, working hand in hand with the education sector to help more students discover their potential, build confidence and achieve their own breakthroughs at different stages of life.
