【Donation of Medical Equipment】Donates Ophthalmic Equipment to Support Hope Vision Project in Qujiang

Yuk Ching Charity Trust donated two advanced ophthalmic diagnostic devices worth RMB 300,000 to Qujiang District People’s Hospital in Shaoguan. This donation aims to support the Hope Vision Project, a free cataract surgery program, enhancing local ophthalmic services and benefiting numerous patients.

The donated equipment includes a TOPCON KR-800 Auto Refractometer and a Canon TX-20P Non-Contact Tonometer. These devices will be used for pre- and post-operative examinations of cataract patients and for vision screening among schoolchildren. Both meet ISO 10342 standards and comply with China’s guidelines for myopia prevention in youth, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

Since 2009, Qujiang District People’s Hospital has partnered with the Yuk Ching Charity Trust to advance the Hope Vision Project. Over the past decade, the Trust has donated multiple ophthalmic surgical instruments, restoring sight to thousands of cataract patients. With the hospital’s new facilities and growing patient volume, this donation will significantly improve patient experience, streamline examination processes, and enhance service quality.

The hospital expressed its commitment to fully utilize the new equipment, continue promoting free cataract surgeries, and actively organize public vision health initiatives to safeguard the “visible happiness” of the community.
