【Students Leap Forward Award Scheme】2024/25 Wong Tai Sin District

As the 2024/25 academic year draws to a close, the Yuk Ching Charity Trust held the awards ceremony for the ninth consecutive "Students Leap Forward Award" at Ng Wah Catholic Secondary School. The event was attended by nearly 600 award recipients, principals, teachers, and parents, filling the venue with warmth and celebration.

The award scheme aims to recognize and support hardworking Hong Kong students who demonstrate mid-level academic performance but lack sufficient educational resources. To promote equitable access to opportunities, the Trust has extended its support to districts including Yuen Long, North District, Tsuen Wan, and Kwai Tsing in previous years. This year, in collaboration with the Wong Tai Sin District Secondary and Primary School Heads Associations, the award honored students who showed remarkable improvement in academics, character development, sports, arts, and community service.

With strong support from Wong Tai Sin’s educational community, this year’s program received 285 applications from 48 secondary, primary, and special schools. After careful review by the Education Committee, all nominated students were granted scholarships—a record high in the award’s history.

Trustees of the Yuk Ching Charity Trust attended the ceremony to personally present the awards and encourage the recipients. A Trust representative stated, “Witnessing the perseverance and growth of these students is the greatest reward of this initiative. We hope this recognition will inspire them to continue striving for excellence.”

Many parents expressed deep gratitude after the event, noting that the award not only provided tangible encouragement but also reinforced society’s commitment to education. The Yuk Ching Charity Trust reaffirmed its dedication to advancing educational philanthropy and nurturing well-rounded talent in Hong Kong.
