Near the border, almost 10km towards north-east of Sheung Shui, Ta Ku Ling is a far-away area that only few Hong Kong people will visit. Elderly residents in these remote districts rarely have a chance to reach the general community and various facilities due to physical or health problems or high transport costs. Volunteer services seldom take place there and the elderly there do not benefit much.
Yuk Ching Charity Trust is keen to serve and reach out to the needy in different districts and cooperated with 【Ta Ku Ling Kei Lok Community Association】 on 30 May 2018 to hold a party for the elderly living in Ta Ku Ling and the nearby remote districts. Kei Lok volunteers arranged a wonderful performance program with song and dance. The Trust organised lively activity games and sponsored a healthy feast and gift packs. With coordination from the Chairman of 【Ta Ku Ling Kei Lok Community Association】, all the elderly participants enjoyed a rare and valuable event.
