The COVID-19 pandemic has jeopardized the livelihood of many people, but it definitely has a greater negative impact on underprivileged groups, who are experiencing serious financial difficulties. In January 2021, Yuk Ching Charity Trust sponsored the Social Welfare Department (Kwun Tong District Social Welfare Office) to distribute 1,200 gift packs through 21 NGOs to the elderly and grassroot families in the Kwun Tong district, in hopes of alleviating their financial burden. Words of encouragement were also added on some of the items in the gift packs. We hope that the gift packs will not only provide assistance to the needies in terms of food and resources, but will also show our care and support to them in times of difficulty.
