Yuk Ching Charity Trust, in co-operation with YMCA, and with the support of Crystal International Group Volunteers, sponsored a farm visit on 8 December for 35 children from under-privileged families in Tung Chung & Cheung Sha Wan.

Students from kindergarten to Primary Five were divided into small groups of 4 or 5.  After an educational farm tour, each of the 8 groups were taught in a workshop, and then students planted their own potted seedlings during their time in actual field work experience.

Students living in congested urban districts of Tung Chung and Cheung Sha Wan often lack chances of extra-curricular activities. Through this experiential activity, young students were provided with opportunities to develop their interest, build up self-confidence, and learn about healthy living and environmental protection.
