During the recent severe icy snow weather in eastern and northern parts of Mainland China, thousands of migrant workers and their families were stranded in and around. Shaoguan as transportation by rail and highways were completely immobilized. 
 
Yuk Ching Charity Trust made an emergency relief donation of HK$30,000 last week to the Shaoguan Qujiang Qu Communist Youth League Communist Youth League. The money was immediately used by the League to purchase blankets, instant noodles, bread, warm leather gloves, torches, and rice for distribution to hundreds of the poor people stranded on coaches on highways, living in temporary shelters and in schools. The League mobilized volunteers and government workers to help and opened large canteens to cook hot meals and water to alleviate their desperate predicament and to provide comfort and care to them.
