On Sunday 9 November 2009, Shaoguan Qujiang People's Hospital held a formal ceremony to receive from Yuk Ching Charity Trust a donation of Eye Operation Equipment and Microscope. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Y. D. Pang (Shaoguan Communist Youth League Secretary), Qujiang Ku senior officials and Mr. J. L. Yeung (Principal Qujiang People's Hospital). A dummy cheque for the amount was presented to the Principal. 
 
The Yuk Ching Charity Trust donation of Eye Operation Equipment and Microscope and sponsored training of medical personnel is a major advanced technological breakthrough for the Hospital on a long term basis which hitherto relied on manual operations for treatment of eye cataract sufferers to regain their eye sights. Shaoguan as a whole has only one other at its principal hospital. This significant donation is fully reflected in the Opening Speech made by Ms. C .Y. Lu , Qujiang Ku Deputy Director attached. 
 
Official announcement of Yuk Ching Charity Trust Eye Operation Project has already been made via TV, radio and news media and by this time over a hundred poor eye patients have lined up to apply for Free Operations sponsored by Yuk Ching Charity Trust  from 2010. Applications are being called for and these will be scrutinized by official agencies and the Communist Youth League. Successful applications meeting our criteria will be forwarded to Yuk Ching Charity Trust for approval of Free Operations to be conducted. Yuk Ching Charity Trust will in fact donate to the Hospital for operation on each patient while other costs of health inspections, medicines, doctor's fee, accommodation etc will be borne by the Hospital.
