【Charity Begins at Home】2013 Aberdeen


Charity Begins at Home keeps on spreading love and warmth to the elderly and it was the first time the activity held in Hong Kong Island. On 20 October, about 150 volunteers gathered at Aberdeen and visited the elderly living in the government public housing of Tin Wan Estate, Wah Fu Estate, Wah Kwai Estate, Tin Wan Estate Housing for Senior Citizens and private housing with poor living condition in Tin Wan. 

 


In the opening ceremony, Yuk Ching Charity Trust Management, Crystal Group Management and VIPs initiated the activity with balloons which represented their love and warmth.
 

The Management and VIPs passed the balloons to the volunteers, which signified their love were spreading around.

 
Volunteers visited about 300 elderly individually and love pockets were presented to them. The elderly were graceful to receive the love pockets. 

 

Volunteers started their visiting for the elderly.

  
The elderly received the love pockets with cheerful smile. The activity was held successfully and we would like to thank all the supporting and volunteer organizations, including:

•    Caritas Community Centre – Aberdeen 
•    Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin)

 


 

Also, we would like to thank all volunteers participated in the activity so that love can be continuously spread out.
