This year, "Charity Begins at Home" was held at Shek Wai Kok Estate, Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong on 4 December 2016. 80 Crystal volunteers participated in this event. Target group was 100 elderly people who live in Shek Wai Kok Estate. The event started at 1:00pm and ended at 5:00pm. Total 320 volunteer service hours were recorded. Also, this event was the first event of newly setup project, "Food and Resources Centre", of Yuk Ching Charity Trust. Our volunteers will keep spreading love and warmth to the elderly!

Before visiting, all volunteers participated in the kick-off ceremony at Crystal Group's Hong Kong Office. A welcome speech was delivered. The background of the event and the Food and Resources centre were introduced to all volunteers.

Led by the Management of Yuk Ching Charity Trust and Crystal Group, all volunteers raised up heart-shaped cards and shouted loudly the event's slogan, which represented delivering the love and warmth of volunteers to the beneficiaries.

Apart from delivering food packs to the elderly, Crystal volunteers also prepared handmade "towel bear" which shows their love and care to the elderly. During the visit, volunteers understood more on the food preference and needs from the elderly. This could help facilitating the service of Food and Resources Centre in future. Many elderly felt the warmth as they were seldom visited by volunteers. They hoped volunteers could visit them again.

Last but not least, we have to thank "Hong Hong Society for the Aged" for referring us the elderly living in Shek Wai Kok Estate. We would also like to thank all the volunteers participated in this event.
